Stara Planina is a nature park in eastern Serbia and one of the best-preserved mountains in the country, with Midžor (2,169 m), Serbia's second-highest peak. It is known for spectacular waterfalls — Tupavica, Čungulj and the magnificent Pilj — and the distinctive Babin Zub rock. There is also a ski resort with a cable car and slopes, open from December to March, with far shorter queues than larger resorts. In summer it is a paradise for hiking, photography and rest in untouched nature.
