The Ibar flows through the picturesque Ibar gorge, known as the Valley of Kings for the medieval monasteries and fortresses that surround it, such as Maglič, Žiča and Studenica. The river is popular for rafting and kayaking, especially in spring when the water is high. The surroundings combine nature, spas (Mataruška and Bogutovačka) and rich cultural heritage, making the Ibar ideal for blending an active holiday with sightseeing.
