Sterijino pozorje

Sterija's Theatre Festival (Sterijino pozorje) is the most important festival of national drama and theatre in Serbia, held every May in Novi Sad. Dedicated to domestic dramatic work, its competition programme selects the best productions of the season.

Founded in 1956 and named after Jovan Sterija Popović, the festival is both guardian and driving force of Serbian theatre. For theatre professionals and audiences, it is the central event of the season.
