Danube
About
The Danube is the largest river flowing through Serbia and one of the country's main tourist routes. Along its banks lie landscaped river beaches, marinas and promenades — from Novi Sad's Štrand to Belgrade's Lido — as well as the famous Silver Lake. Its most spectacular stretch is the Iron Gates gorge, the longest and largest river gorge in Europe, with Đerdap National Park, the ancient Lepenski Vir site and the medieval Golubac fortress. The Danube is a paradise for cruises, fishing, cycling (EuroVelo 6) and history lovers.
