Sirogojno: an open-air museum on Zlatibor
Published: 10/06/2026
Sirogojno is a famous village on the slopes of Zlatibor, known above all for its open-air museum, the "Old Village" — a unique collection of traditional Zlatibor architecture.
The museum gathers authentic log cabins, dairies and other buildings brought from Zlatibor villages, depicting rural life at the end of the 19th century, with old crafts and regular workshops. Sirogojno is also famous for its hand-knitted wool sweaters.
Accommodation includes cabins, apartments and ethno homesteads, many within the museum complex. Sirogojno is about three hours from Belgrade via Užice and Zlatibor.
