Zrenjanin is the largest city in the Serbian part of Banat, on the Begej river in the plains of northeastern Vojvodina. Known for its Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture, bridges and relaxed spirit, it is a pleasant destination for a quiet city break.

The heart of the city is the spacious Liberty Square, surrounded by grand buildings. Zrenjanin is known as the "city of bridges". Nearby is the Carska Bara special nature reserve, a paradise for birds. The region reflects the multicultural heritage of Banat.

Accommodation includes hotels, apartments and traditional farmsteads (salaši). Zrenjanin is about an hour and a half from Belgrade.
