Serbian holiday vouchers — how to get them and where to use them

Serbian holiday vouchers are a state subsidy encouraging domestic tourism. For the guest it is effectively a free discount on accommodation — you just need to know the procedure and pick a property that accepts them.

Who is eligible

The programme is announced per season and conditions can change, but it traditionally covers categories such as pensioners, benefit recipients, employees below a certain income threshold, students and other groups defined by regulation. **Always check the current conditions** before counting on a voucher.

How to apply — in short

1. Choose a property that **accepts vouchers** and book your dates.

2. The property issues you a **booking confirmation**.

3. Submit the application with the confirmation and required documents at a post office counter.

4. The voucher arrives by post and you **hand it to the property** on arrival.

The key detail: booking first, application second — not the other way round.

Where it can be used

Vouchers are valid in **registered properties outside your place of residence** that appear on the official list. This includes hotels but also many private apartments, villas and village households in spa towns, mountains and by lakes.

What to watch out for

- **Minimum stay** — usually at least five nights.
